Floating Wetland Filters (FWF)

Size and Shape:

BioHaven® Floating Islands can be made for just about any size or shape to suit your project.  They can be 5 feet by 5 feet or several acres. Buoyancy can be adjusted for your needs.

We encourage you to contact us to discuss your site and goals. Once we know your objective, we put together a size and cost proposal.

Some projects such as stormwater ponds are similar to prior projects so it is easier to estimate the size needed.  In other cases, we need a customized solution.

We look at many variables: waterway size, volume, temperature, water inflow, current contaminant levels, reduction goals, wind and wave information, and government regulations to develop a customized design recommendation. Our engineers can help you determine just what your needs are and together we can design the island or islands that best meet your needs.

We will discuss shape options with you.  We have made eco-based islands in circles, kidney shapes, yin-yang shapes, long rectangles to attach to decks, and even letters of the alphabet.

You may use your own specialists to deploy BioHaven® Floating Islands, or contact us and we will refer you to specialists to assist you in the design, planting, deployment, anchoring and care of your islands

Self Launching vs. Turn Key:

When it comes to ordering BioHaven® FTW islands, you have the choice of a turn-key project where we do everything, or if you prefer to plant and launch the island yourself, we will provide you with the islands and launch instructions, assembly hardware and anchoring points. You purchase the plants, planting medium and anchor and do the rest yourself.
